O blessed Saint Arethas
and all holy martyrs of Najran,
ou refused to deny your faith
in the Crucified and Risen Saviour,
and you offered your lives as a sacrifice of praise
in testimony to his divine power.
Help us to embrace the Cross
when our own faith and hope are tested.
Let your intercession be a fortress for us
in our daily struggles
so that no trial or temptation
may separate us from the love of Christ.
O faithful servants of Christ,
may the flame of faith
once lit by your witness
ever be extinguished from this land
but be kept burning in our hearts.
Grant that the Church,
watered by the blood of your testimony,
may flourish in this place
as a messenger of reconciliation and peace
among all people.
We commend to your watchful care
our parishes, communities and families:
fill us with your zeal and courage
to live out our baptismal call to holiness
and bear united witness
to the power of the Resurrection.
Intercede for the weary and the sick,
the neglected and the downtrodden
the doubtful and those who struggle to believe.
Pray also for the needs
that we now entrust to you. (mention your petitions in silence)
O glorious martyrs of Arabia,
be our companions and guides
on our pilgrim way through the desert.
Help us to keep our eyes fixed on the celestial city,
our true and lasting home.
May Christ's victory shine forth in us
so that when he returns in glory
we too may receive the crown
promised to his faithful disciples. Amen.
